Change in direction
I'm not sure of the exact point where fashion left me behind..
perhaps it decide to move on when I was exploring life in
South Africa or while I was busy raising my little girl. But I no longer walk into stores and feel that excitement about clothing that I once felt. I'm certain they did not have me in mind when choosing their design direction for the seasons. Either way I'm happy fashion chose not to include me in it's plans as I now feel a greater need to find that spark that
got me excited about clothing in the very beginning. I don't think I
have ever struggled for inspiration in the past, normally I'd
have an over spill of ideas that left me eager to get designing the next
collection, but I feel like I've been dragging my heals somewhat
with this one. And I know you have taken note..
The truth is I can't
design something that I would not wear today and as my day to day
needs for clothing have changed, so have my ideas of what makes a great
design. Clothing now needs to fit in with my everyday life as a working
mother and all the glamorous demands that brings.. Although comfort,
smart and simple are high on my wish list I'm certainly not ready to
slip away from the fun side of fashion all together. I still lust after bold prints,
vibrant colours, quality fabrications and originality in design and see
no reason why all these can not come together to create an
exciting alternative to what is available. So with all this in mind I
have found some fresh enthusiasm and a new design direction for Nadinoo
that I hope you will love.
INTRODUCING THE DESIGNERS SMOCK
This style was one of the first pieces I designed for the new Nadinoo 2015 offering and ticks all the boxes for me in terms of function, style and comfort. I feel I could wear this design in almost any print and fabrication everyday of the week. I
can see other creatives throwing on this loose number before heading
out to their design studios ready to roll up their sleeves and get thoroughly inspired for the day ahead.

time to think..
Merry Christmas
It's hard not to get reflective when a year comes to an end, especially on those days between Christmas and New year when you have a little time to breath out and put your feet up (if you are lucky that is..). This year has been a busy and challenging one for me and my family but for all it's highs and lows I'm grateful as it has brought us to where we are right now.

Life keeps moving on..
I regret that this space has not been used for personal posts lately and vow to do my best to rectify this and bring you fully up to speed. It seems our life has been moving so fast this year with move after move that it has become tiresome to even recall the events and changes in our lives let alone tell the story. I think my head is still spinning trying to pin down where now is, if that even makes any sense.? But I feel blessed to have landed in a beautiful quiet countryside village that is making peace and grounding all together possible. If you are following @nadinooclothing on instagram you will already be familiar with this charming little place we now call home. The first few weeks we spent wandering the village awestruck by how idyllic and characterful it all is, never mind the joy of having open fields just around the corner. It feels like the perfect antidote to busy city life and we are gratefully soaking it all in. I'm starting to feel like we have found a place we can spend a number of years but I'm not one for getting ahead of myself.. who knows what adventures are waiting round the corner!

Keeping busy
A catch up...
This space has been much neglected since the opening of our Studio/Shop, the days are filled to the brim with new projects, sewing custom orders and chatting to the lovely people who walk through our doors. I can't say I'm complaining as this opportunity has filled my head with plenty nifty new ideas. I even have plans for this old blog if I can only allocate the time it truly deserves. I would love to do a few fun sewing tutorials that may inspire us all to get a bit more crafty in the evenings and weekends.. I'm thinking tiny projects that will take no longer than a couple of hours, as let's face it who has the time or patience to devote any longer..!? I'm hoping this will get my head into gear for setting up some sewing workshops at the Nadinoo Studio/Shop in July, there are so many Nadinoo designs and simple sewing techniques I would love to pass on. Sunny start to the year
I've always enjoyed the beginning of a new year, a fresh start with new goals, ambitions and resolutions to fulfil. For me it's always a good reminder that I need to take better care of myself so I have been making improvements in my daily routine to fit in as many relaxing and healthy habits. Lets hope I can keep it up..

I've been daydreaming of putting together a small children's wear range for quite some time so I'm hopeful it will finally come to fruition this year. The idea of mini versions of your favourite Nadinoo's has to be brought to life, at the very least so my little Lula can run around in Nadinoo dresses of her own. I fear I'll never find time otherwise..
I have lots more ideas and grand plans scribbled down in my shiny new diary but it would be lovely to hear what you would like to see from us in 2014. Please don't be shy, all ideas are welcome for either the blog or future collections.

Autumn is here..
Hurray it's finally a distinct season here in Manchester, after a half hearted Summer it's nice to have a full blown Autumn with the changing trees and the sun shining. I've been trying to get in plenty of walks while it's still warmish out and my bump is not too huge and uncomfortable. I'm now 24 weeks into this wonderful journey and I'm loving it far more than was expecting. As this one is so active and responsive to sounds and touch throughout the day I feel like I have a new friend to chat and play with. I don't think I was aware how close and engaging you could feel towards your little one and the overwhelming sense of love you feel while they are still in there. A month ago we had our Anomaly scan, it was fascinating taking a tour around our baby's body seeing everything in such detail. The sonographer was kind enough to narrate as she checked and took measurements so it was incredibly reassuring to hear that all was heathy and well with my new friend. We also found out that we are indeed having a little girl (as I suspected!), I was over the moon as you can imagine and even asked her to check again through teary eyes. Since then my nesting instinct has kicked in and I've been trying to find everything she will need when she arrives, it's so nice choosing outfits and bits and pieces for her new little life. I have so many pretty things I want to make her from Liberty prints I have stored away, hopefully I will find the time soon but I'm certain once I start I will not be able to stop.
Hope you enjoy these silly photos taken on the way back from the Cinema with my little sisters, we went for a lovely stroll through my favourite park to admire the leaves and soak up some afternoon sun while discussing Perks of being a wallflower. This outfit is pretty typical for me these days, my new Tweed coat which I'm getting plenty of wear out of before it will fit no more, cosy A-line Nadinoo dresses with complimenting tights and comfy Chelsea boots which I bought to effortlessly slip on before leaving the house without the need to lace or buckle up (Bending down is no longer an easy task).
