A little something to share..

I have to admit I've been a little vague in my recent posts and that's because I've been hiding a little secret that I'm now ready to share with you.. In February next year there will hopefully be a little addition to the Nadinoo family, we will be welcoming a little baby Nadinoo into our world. I'm already 18 weeks along and time feels like it's flying by. My bump has grown double in the past couple of weeks which has made me feel well and truly pregnant, especially as the little one has started to make it's presence known with mini kicks and moves at surprising moments during the day. I thought it would be nice to share little snippets on the blog of my pregnancy journey, nothing too gory or detailed I promise! As I have enjoyed following many bloggers over the years share their 40 week adventure, I thought a few of you might like to see how I get on. I think for me it's been nice to see ladies with such a strong identity take on an even bigger roll and still retain what made them so special. I hope I too can gain these new qualities without loosing any of the old ones that made me, ME!
This is my first attempt at dressing my bump for evening drinks with friends, obviously it will be mocktails and cranberry juices for me. As my body has changed so quickly I don't yet know what I can still fit into from my old wardrobe (without looking too comical). When I re-fabricated the Darling dress from the SS11 collection for the Print a day series I tried on an X-Small almost as a joke, however I was pleasantly surprised! I think it's still flattering the way the original was with the sweeping neckline and hip skimming shape but with a little extra that makes it look quite charming. I love it so much I think I might try it another print for the print a day series, any ideas which?.. As the silhouette was adapted from an original 60's pattern it really makes me feel like a lady from that era + the mini baby bump of course. I can't wait to find out what other silhouettes this new shape can pull off!

Oh my gosh! Congratulations!! So exciting!!

Does that mean there might be a Nadinoo maternity dress on the way for A/W? And maybe a nursing Nadinoo for S/S. Hope so!!

I'm 24 weeks (due Christmas Eve - eek!) and my Lula's Tweety dress has seen a lot of action so far but I think I need to put it away now for fear of stretching the tummy area for ever!

I would LOVE a Darling but its so difficult to choose a print - what are the options?!

Congratulations again!

Gosh it's so nice to get such a reaction! Thank you all so much for your kind comments.

Scarlette, I have included a few easy to wear dresses that work while preg and nursing in the new collection. Trying to stay clear of maternity wear as I feel Nadinoo clothing should last much longer than 9months. So pleased you have managed to get plenty of wear out of your Tweety dress :) Christmas is just round the corner, bet your so excited!! x

Q's Daydream, it's so funny you should say that as I've always been a bit of a tummy stroker, you can imagine how much I do it now :)

YAY! I have made myself a couple of preggo dresses from 60s patterns (the empire line patterns are proving v.adaptable!) but would love a Nadinoo or two for special occasions. Nursing-suitable designs are a great idea - Nadinoo’s are definitely for life :).

Also: On the subject of remaining yourself (something which has been playing on my mind, too!) I highly recommend reading A Life’s Work by Rachel Cusk, its not for the feint-hearted but its very honest about what lies in store!

Oh my goodness this is such fantastic news! Congrats to you both! You are adorable as always and I can't wait to see your outfits as things progress. Do you think you'll make you own clothing? Now that would be some maternity wear I would like to own some day! ;)

I only have 1 word to your pictures: beautiful!
It was funny to read your post as I am at 14 weeks myself, i only own a lulas darling dress and I have been using it a lot: without the belt at work where nobody knows yet, and with belt to mark the bump on weekends with friends and family! I think that its great to be able to stay away from maternity clothes!
