Dreaming of the Big Sur

24/01/2012

I know it's a while since our California trip but I never quite managed to post any of the hundreds of photos I took. Since the weather is so icky here and not ideal for photography I thought it was the right time to trickle a few highlights from our holiday to remind me of the amazing places we visited. These were taken on the final morning of our trip to the Big Sur, the rugged scenery was breathtaking (especially at dawn).

Incredibly beautiful photos. I've lived in California my entire life so I definitely know what gems the state possesses. However I've never been to Big Sur, maybe I should go after seeing these photos! x

I love Big Sur! It's the best place for a weekend getaway. I hope you were able to stay the night while you were there. A few summers ago I stayed in a log cabin in Big Sur for the weekend, and I highly recommend it! Rustic cabins next to huge sequoias, and it was so cool and damp (especially for June). We had a great weekend away from computers/the city, and just enjoyed nature, the fireplace and grilling food (a very fiery weekend).

Here's where we stayed, in case you plan on making another trip. The website is ridiculous but the cabins are charming! http://www.ripplewoodresort.com

Big Sur is one of my favorite places, and all along that Pacific Coast. I took hundreds of photos there too last summer. Glad to see you enjoyed its rugged beauty too!
